A ghastly creature of nightmare from the Orkney Islands, this horrible combination of horse and man sports no skin and one blazing red eye.<\/p>\n

In the Snipe Hunt Universe, I’ve decided to depict the nuckelavee as the animated remains of a centaur, rotted beneath the waves for many a year but kept largely intact by the strange designs of a will-o-the-wisp – the “one red eye” spoken of by eyewitnesses to this beast’s wanderings.<\/p>\n

The existence of such a thing would stymie Professor Hazard, as he doesn’t believe in centaurs. He does, however, believe in ghosts, so he will do the nuckelavee the honor of being completely terrified if he encounters it.<\/p>\n
