When Bill May of Stellar Studios implied that his alien mascot could use a redesign, I was eager to jump on the job. The result is Seigel, the sassy alien. His space skateboard – called a “dash board” to reference both its ability to dash, and the name of a website’s control panel – references Bill’s skating career in his youth.<\/p>\n

The name “Seigel” is a bit of a zoology joke – there’s an awesome bird called the Steller’s sea eagle, so I contracted all of that into “Stellar’s Seigel”. The result makes a name that sounds familiar to Earthican ears, but whose phonemes could easily come from any race’s vocabulary as a name.<\/p>\n
